Wenn ich den Lesern des Anzeigers während meiner Thätigkeit nicht gerecht geworden bin, so ist dies eher Schwächen, denen jeder Mensch unterworfen ist, nicht aber einer absichtlichen Nachlässigkeit zuzuschreiben. Wie schwierig der Beruf eines Redakteurs ist, können meine Collegen besser beurtheilen als die Leser, und wo von Seite des Volkes manches harte Urtheil gefällt wird, darf man bei ersteren auf brüderliches Mitgefühl rechnen. Meinen Feinden, wenn ich solche habe, will ich gern verzeihen, während ich Freundschaftsbezeugungen stets in Andenken halten werde. Den vielen Gönnern des Anzeigers hiermit meinen Dank und hoffe ich nur, daß sie auch ihre Gunst auf meine Nachfolger übertragen werden. Vom Beginne am war meine Absicht hier im Centalpunkte des Staates ein Werk aufzubauen im Interesse der Deutschen, und wie weit ich darin erfolgreich war, ist für die Leser zu beurtheilen.
