Mein Papier war vorhin alle, dann hat mir Heimie/Heinie von deinem gebracht jetzt bilde ich mir ein ich war im Camp und läg auf meiner bung [bunk/Pritsche] ha ha, ich sage dir, da bringt man aber etwas drauf, die Zeilen sind so nahe beisammen. Ich kann dir gar keine Neuigkeiten schreiben weil ich nicht in der Küche bin. die Tante Caroline Benzinger war heute Morgen bei mir, sie hat gesagt die Mimie [Geber/Zeber?] war ein paar Tage nach [Höh?], Geiger’s thäten [täten] aus dem store ziehen und der Willie Foerstner zieht in den store. Der Harry Young ist auch in France [Frankreich] angekommen, der ist doch mit euch fort, hast du ihn als gesehen? Du hast noch gar nichts von der Brod-Torte geschrieben wo deine Ma geschickt hat. Das andere Papier gieb ich aber Heimie/Heinie die schreibt doch als mehr als ich.&#13;

sie hat dir gestern Abend geschrieben. Jetzt währt es doch nicht mehr lang und du darfst heim kommen. Ich denke ich schlafe jetzt ein bischen [bisschen] und schreib später fertig. _ _ _&#13;
Jetzt wird es aber Zeit das [dass] ich meinen Brief fertig mache. Deine Ma war hier sie ist eben wieder heim, die Lis ist auch hier und der kleine Arnold, es ist ein herz-iger Kerl er hat einen so schönen Lockenkopf, er kommt als einmal durch die Kammer gesprungen und guckt mich so ein bissel [bisschen] scheu an. Die Briefe wo ich dir jetzt schicke thust [tust] du doch hoffenlich [hoffentlich] nicht wieder heim schicken und thust sie verbrennen ich schreib immer so gräßlich [grässlich]. Eben hat mir die Ma ein Veilchen gebracht. Deine Ma hat es im Garten gefunden es riecht ganz köstlich, jetzt schick ich es dir. Eben ist das Minchen gekommen und hat die Lis begrüßt./ Jetzt war Minchen bei mir und ich hab wieder aufhören müssen. Ich hör aber auf jetzt, du hast genug zu lesen an dem Gekritzel, bleibe du nur gesund, der liebe Gott hat mir auch geholfen ich bete immer ich denke du auch.&#13;
